Equipment pointers

In video surveillance the choice depends on the task and the customer's requirements toward the manufacturer: Hikvision and Dahua cover the mass and mid segment, Hanwha and Axis where image quality, analytics and strict vendor requirements are needed. What matters is less the camera than the "camera — network — storage — power" chain: it's at the joints that recordings are most often lost.

For factories and distributed sites we use industrial networking gear and plan the power (PoE, UPS) and redundancy so the system doesn't depend on a single point of failure. Where needed, we complement the perimeter with information-security tools — from firewalls to Kaspersky antivirus protection.
